History

To promote improved psychiatric care of patients in general medical hospitals, in 1988, one hundred and sixty psychiatrists from all over Japan had gathered and formed Japanese Society of General Hospital Psychiatry (JSGHP) for the continuing research and education of consultation-liaison psychiatry services. The number of members has been consistently increasing since then and we have approx. 1200 members as of Dec 2000.
